Kim Gregory serves as the Director of Development & Community Engagement at Keys Marine Laboratory. She holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Michigan State University, with a focus on Public Administration and Public Policy.

Kim began her career in politics and policy, working as the deputy press secretary for the Lt. Governor of Michigan during their gubernatorial statewide campaign, and assisting a Michigan State Legislator with legislative items, communications, fundraising and as a committee clerk. These experiences instilled in her the value of bipartisan collaboration and the importance of unity despite differing viewpoints.

Kim also spent seven years running her own event planning business in Michigan, where she successfully produced events for over 25 corporate and government clients. She has a keen eye for space planning and design, as well as strong attention to detail.

For over 14 years, Kim has played a crucial role in fundraising for the Florida Keys community. During her decade at Baptist Health South Florida Foundation/Fishermen’s Community Hospital, she successfully led a Capital Campaign that raised over $16 million in under 60 months to build a new hospital in the Middle Keys following the devastation of Hurricane Irma. Most recently, she has focused on fundraising for MarineLab and the Marine Resources Development Foundation in Key Largo. Through these initiatives, she has cultivated relationships with high-net-worth individuals, foundations, local and county government officials, and key business leaders.

Kim is passionate about fundraising for marine science, conservation, and environmental education and research. Additionally, she serves on the advisory board for the Marathon Premier Sailfish Tournament, which raises funds for Mission Fishin’ and Marathon Special Olympics, promoting inclusivity on the water.
