Jonathan Swift is the administrative specialist at Keys Marine Lab. He graduated with a BA in
Anthropology from the University of South Florida. During his time there, his work focused on
archaeology, utilizing Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) for
site mapping and non-invasive site investigations. His field work consisted of mapping many sites
around the Tampa Bay area, including numerous Native American burial mounds, the Giddens
Plantation cemetery, and Ft. Cooper. After graduating, he became an educator in Hillsborough County
and spent 10 years there teaching in various capacities. Recently, Jonathan relocated back to Monroe
County and joined the team here at KML. Jonathan is a “saltwater conch” and has been boating in the
waters of the Florida Keys his entire life. He is a PADI certified diver and is an avid sport fisherman.
